My journey with FOSSASIA ❤
What is FOSSASIA ?
Well, my love for open source started some time before joining Amazon Internship as Solution Architect Intern. I contributed to few projects but then couldn’t find time to keep working on. So I decided to give a break.
But now that I am about to finish my engineering, I decided to seriously contribute to OpenSource software. Only question was which organization to choose from.
Now, choosing an organization isn’t very tough. You just need interest in writing code to a software used (may be ) by millions of developers/people.
FOSSASIA is Asia’s largest open source organization that has numerous projects under its development. As of now, you can find 206 repositories being opened and almost all of them are actively contributed by 2012 from all over the world.
Its been a month I have started contributing to FOSSASIA’s 4 projects under development.
Now, that I have decided to contribute to open source software by fossasia. I have also decided to write a medium article every weekend about my week’s work and talk in general about the projects of what they do and why you should start contributing as well. This being the first one.
If you are interested in contributing to open source, my best bet in FOSSASIA.
You may ask why ? The reason is simple and straight forward, FOSSASIA’s community is very welcoming and very much beginner friendly. I also made up few friends from the community, we share the same mindset of changing the world, one line of code at a time :-)
