I started writing a summary of the book mentioned in the title in Part 1 of this continued blog post.

This is part 2. I will be continuing on the key takeaways part as mentioned in the Part 1 post. So, let’s begin!

  1. Meet people properly:
Make eye contact, be genuinely interested in the other person. Remember their name!
  2. Find things you have in common:
There is definitely something going to be in common in both of you. It helps to discuss things that are different for both after we find something in common. Fewer fights, more discussions!
  3. Check egos at the door:
It is not going to be helpful if you bring your ego along when talking to another person.
  4. Praise each other:
Well, this can do wonders all the time. Find something nice to say, even if it’s a stretch. The worst ideas can have silver linings if you look hard enough.
  5. Look for the best in everybody:
When we are frustrated with people, or when they made you angry, it just may be because you haven’t given them enough time.
People will always show their good side, just keep waiting.
  6. Watch what they do, not what they say:
Well, this is going to be a super useful piece. Randy says, when it comes to romantic relationships, just ignore everything they say, and only pay attention to what they do. That’s it!
  7. Show gratitude:
Always, and always, show gratitude, be grateful for what you have, and work for more. The subtle difference between being satisfied and being grateful. A lesson in there.
  8. A bad apology is worse than no apology:
Fu*k ups happen. Accept it. But when they do, apologize sincerely, not in a way like you are doing something for the other person. If you don’t want to, then don’t but never ever apologize with a half-baked apology.
  9. No job is beneath you:
Do I need to say more? 😄
  10. Never give up!:
Again, do you want me to explain this? 😃
  11. All you have to do is ask:
A classic example of this can be where someone is trying to get an internship or a job or needs some favor. Randy talks about his experience with this tip. If you want something from someone, just ask. Worst case? — You will be denied, but at least you can live with that you tried to get it.
Like someone? — Just ask them out.
    Need help? — Just ask!
    As simple as that!

And that’s about it folks! Best bits and pieces of wisdom from the book, right here, in front of you with 2 parts in total.
For the rest of the book, he talks about his memories with his kids, about how he is going to miss them. His memories with his wife Jai, about their love.

Hope reading this blog was worth your time.

See you in the next one! My next read? — It is Blitzscaling by Reid Hoffman and Chris Yeh.

Cheers folks! Peace ☮️
